REVISED DRAFT BASIC ASSESSMENT REPORT FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
The City of Cape Town proposes to develop Erf 13814/RE on Pickwick Road in Salt River for social housing and mixed use purposes. The site is 3.2 hectares in extent.
An application has been submitted for environmental authorisation to undertake activities in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (107 of 1998) and EIA Regulations (GNR 326 of 2017):
- Activity 26 of Listing Notice 1 (GN 327 of 2017), for development of land previously used for mining; and
- Activity 15 of Listing Notice 3 (GN 324 of 2017), for the transformation of land zoned for open space.
The public participation process will commence on Tuesday 2 November 2021. Interested and affected parties (I&APs) are invited to comment or to register for further updates. When registering or commenting, I&APs must provide their name, contact details, and an indication of any direct business, financial, personal or other interest which they have in the application.
